Do you have a part or project that you want to have engineered? Octagon will assign and contract the engineering to a qualified APEGA engineer to complete all required engineering activities.
Design
This example is a hammer wrench tool for frac pump fluid end maintenance. Another great example of a design made with the operator in mind. Previously the tool was heavy and cumbersome, had a 90 degree arm which resulted in operators striking fluid end prior to tool, and non replaceable parts meaning the customer would have to purchase a new tool if anything suffered damage
Do you require 3D models? Octagon will design and submit 3D models for discussion and collaboration. Do your programmers need 3D models? Octagon will design or convert 2D drawings to 3D models. Do your planners need staged 3D models? Octagon will design and create models showing each stage of production from raw material through to the finished product. Octagon can supply a wide variety of designs varying from prototypes to high volume components.
Drawings
Once engineering and design functions are completed a full set of drawings will be created to clearly define the next manufacturing steps.
Quality Assurance
In this example we see the design providing a solution for a problem the customer didn’t know they had until things were installed. The radius clearances are machined into the pancake jack to provide clearance around protruding studs that rendered existing tooling useless.
Octagon will provide quality assurance for its projects or as a stand alone service for customers looking to improve their own programs or are looking to become certified to an accredited program. We can offer the development of a full program or as little as an independent internal audit of an area.
Solutions
In this example we see a gauge fitting that was previously manufactured in China. The sealing acceptance rate was 50%. At Octagon we improved the design, added proper quality control steps and manufactured in Canada. Acceptance Rate: 100%
